SPORTHems strengthens inclusive youth work through sport. Youth workers get practical methods, training materials and a step-by-step video course, so that disadvantaged young people and young people with disabilities can take part in structured sport activities that matter.

Accessible, inclusive sport for every young person
Sport as a tool for participation, not just activity
Many young people — especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds or living with disabilities — still face social, physical and structural barriers that keep them out of sport. Youth workers, in turn, often lack practical tools to design truly accessible activities. SPORTHems was created to close that gap.
Our answer is Hemsball: a simple, flexible sport that adapts to different needs, contexts and ability levels. We treat sport not only as physical activity, but as a way to build participation, confidence, cooperation and belonging.
Through development, training, pilot sessions, evaluation and dissemination, the partnership produces practical resources that youth workers can carry straight into their local realities.
